The six month countdown to Plast Eurasia, one of the biggest plastics shows in Europe and the Middle East, has begun.
Istanbul
Turkey's plastics industry benefits from a strong potential for export, with the country's plastics processors doing business with some 205 nations all over the world. Last year, the industry produced 8.9 million tonnes of plastic products, generating some £33.8 billion, while production rose by three per cent on a value basis year-on-year.
Nearly five million tonnes of the nine million tonnes of plastics consumed within the domestic market also find their way overseas as semi-finished products or finished products for automotive, packaging, construction and electronics.
As well as enjoying a strong export market, some $880 million in machinery and equipment was purchased in Turkey in 2016 - a five per cent year-on-year increase.
Plast Eurasia in Istanbul is a draw both for Turkey's domestic and export markets, welcoming 5,116 overseas visitors from 84 countries in 2016 and 957 companies from 41 countries as exhibitors.Plast Eurasia İstanbul will be held at Tüyap Fair and Convetion Center on December 6th-9th 2017, where the latest technology products and the latest trends in plastic raw materials and machinery industries will be exhibited.
