Plastics processing occupies also a strong position in Turkey and the Turkish Plastics Industry Foudnation (PAGEV) revealed that the industry contributed some $13 billion (€11.6 billion, £9.6 billion) to the Turkish economy in 2015.
The Turkish plastics industry comprises some 6,500 companies - many of whom are small and medium-sized businesses, and almost 250,000 staff. Moreover, Turkey's plastics industry comes second only to Germany in the ranking of the top plastics processing markets in the Europe area and was seventh-largest in the world in 2014.
This is much to be proud of and the true extent of Turkey's successful plastics processing market will be on show at Turkey's biggest plastics show Plast Eurasia - now in its 26th year - organised in cooperation between TÜYAP and PAGEV.
Plast Eurasia will take place in Istanbul on December 7th-10th (2016 in Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization, which is preparing to bring over 1,000 qualified visitors and around 50,000 professionals together.
