Reports following the event revealed that an Iranian petrochemical official remarked that a number of renowned companies from Italy and Germany indicated their seriousness to join petrochemical projects in Iran while at the show.
Ali Hosseini, Investment Advisor at Persian Gulf Holding Company (PGHC), told a gathering of reporters on the sidelines of the show that the company is in talks with numerous foreign exhibitors for signing investment contracts.
Hosseini said Italy was the first country to indicate its readiness to finance petrochemical projects in Iran, followed by other European countries including Germany who wish to compete for a larger share in Iran's petrochemical sector now that international sanctions on Tehran's nuclear programme have been lifted.
