Plastics and petrochemicals are up for discussion at a key export summit between Omani and Indian decision-makers.
A 14-member business delegation from Oman is set to visit the Asian nation next week (August 10th) to develop new strategies to strengthen existing trade and investment relations between the countries.
Salem Ben Nasser Al Ismaily, Chairman of Ithraa, Oman's investment and export promotion agency, will lead the party who will visit New Delhi and Mumbai on their tour.
The visit will include business meetings with Indian importers, manufacturers and agents in a bid to develop new ties in plastics, petrochemicals and food processing. The outing will be followed up in Muscat in October 2015, when Ithraa will host an investment forum with Indian businesses to further promote Omani-Indian trade relations.
"India is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, with growth levels reaching five-six per cent," said Al Ismaily. "India may be a complex and challenging market, but it is one that should be taken seriously by Omani companies that are seeking to expand and go international."
