Saudi Arabian company Sipchem (Saudi International Petrochemical Company) and the European plastics and rubber distributor RESINEX have reached a distribution agreement on the joint launch and marketing of Sipchem neat PBT resin in Europe.

The product portfolio extends from high-viscosity grades to super easy-flow types with MRF values (250 °C/1.6 kg) ranging from 11 to 200 g/10 min.
With the new Sipchem PBT grades now added to the company's portfolio, RESINEX is targeting mainly compounders, and monofilament and fibre manufacturers who can select the optimum grade from the extensive product range to suit their individual requirements. The distributor has thus strengthened its product portfolio in the field of engineering plastics, and can offer its customers new options for exploiting synergy effects.
Sipchem manufactures the PBT products at its newly built plant in Al-Jubail (Saudi Arabia) with a production capacity of 63,000 metric tons a year. They are produced by the Uhde Inventa-Fischer process, whereby Sipchem can use the 1,4-butanediol feedstock from its own production.
