Taking place on November 17th at the palatial Madinat Jumeirah, IHS Chief Economist Nariman Behravesh with discuss the short- and long-term forecasts for economic growth in the Middle East and North Africa and the pressing matter of the impact of regional political instability and war with Islamic State.
In his presentation, Behravesh will touch on the countries that are negatively impacted from lower oil prices: Iran, Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Libya; and those that are benefitting: Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia.
He will also go into the impact of the likely lifting of sanctions on Iran in 2016 and how oil exports and economic growth will be affected.
IHS Chemical General Manager Dave Witte will also be on stage at the 10th annual GPCA Forum, where he will deliver speeches on the impact if low oil on the chemical industry, an outlook for profits in this segment, and megatrends and the impact of underlying chemical demand on a worldwide scale.
His outlook presentation on global chemical trade will touch on the slowing globalisation of supply chains, the connection between low-cost hyrdocarbons and chemical trade and the strategic issues facing various types of chemical producers.
The 10th annual GPCA event is expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees from 42 countries and boasts its strongest and most business-critical programme in its history.
